My name is Paige Broadworth and I am a Shelby Township area piano teacher whose goal is to foster a love of music and learning. I believe in creating a supportive environment for students to explore music and achieve their goals. Lessons are fun, interactive, and individualized based on student needs and interests. In my lessons, students can expect to discover a wide range of repertoire, from pop and jazz to classical and even Broadway. They will also learn how to engage in music in a myriad of other ways, such as through a rich understanding of music theory and musical analysis, music history, keyboard technique, ear-training, transposition, improvisation, accompaniment skills, lead-sheet reading, and sight-reading. However, I understand the students will be undertaking a far greater task in their lessons: They will become problem-solvers, independent learners, disciplined time managers, and self-assured young artists. Students will be asked to make their own musical decisions and take ownership over the messages they send through music, and thus discover music’s power to communicate and connect people. As music is meant to be shared, students are regularly invited to participate in seasonal recitals, RCM Exams, and Piano SAT Exams. I look forward to being your guide on this journey!
I have been playing the piano for over 20 years both professionally and recreationally. I have taught piano for 8 years. I studied under Dr. Scott Price and Dr. Sara Ernst at the University of South Carolina, earning my Master's Degree in Piano Pedagogy. I also hold a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from Oakland University under Dr. Tian Tian, with 3 years of music education coursework.
I currently offer private piano lessons at MusicLife Academy in Shelby Township, MI. To request lessons with me, please consider checking out MusicLife Academy's website, or by contacting me directly. I am excited to make music together!
